The UniProd handwriting machine
Write personalized mail at scale—with a real ballpoint pen.
UniProd is an automated handwriting machine—often called an autopen machine—that feeds and writes envelopes, cards, and letters using your spreadsheet data. It is built for teams that need repeatable output, a practical production workflow, and people behind the machine when the work matters.
See your real job run before you choose.
- 20+ years of team experience
- Supported from Louisville, Kentucky
- 3-year new-machine coverage

Proof over promises
See the workflow before you buy it.
Bring a representative mail piece, stock sample, and monthly volume. We will run a comparable job, show the spreadsheet-to-machine workflow, and explain every operator step.
Review speed and reload assumptions for your message length.
Follow your data from spreadsheet through finished handwriting.
Understand folding, stuffing, sealing, postage, and operator time.
If the fit is not there, we will tell you.
Make an apples-to-apples decision
Compare the production system—not just the purchase price.
A handwriting machine earns its keep through the complete workflow: how much stock it holds, how often an operator reloads it, how it performs on your actual piece, and who helps when a production job is on the line.
Capacity and operator touches
Compare pieces per load, reliable feeding on your stock, reload frequency, and the attention each job requires.
UniProd: approximately 150 envelopes or 400–500 sheets/cards per load.*Measured—not maximum—output
Ask for the stock, message length, addressing fields, and operating conditions behind every speed claim.
UniProd: approximately 110 standard three-line addressed envelopes per hour.*Training and downtime support
Know who will train the operator, help with the first job, answer workflow questions, and support the machine after delivery.
Included remote training with U.S.-based phone and Zoom support.Protection after purchase
Compare warranty length, written exclusions, parts availability, response expectations, and return-shipping responsibility.
Three-year new-machine coverage, subject to written terms.A practical buyer’s checklist
Ask every supplier to prove the same things.
- Run your actual format or a genuinely comparable piece
- State the test conditions behind throughput numbers
- Show every operator step and required reload
- Demonstrate the data and software workflow
- Put training, warranty, parts, and support in writing
Purchase, rental, and financing paths are available.

Authentic by design
Built for the details that make handwriting feel personal.
Use familiar ballpoint pens, change fields from one recipient to the next, and vary repeated letters so the finished work does not look like a copy-and-paste font.
Variable data
Names, addresses, greetings, offers, and other fields can change on every piece.
Natural variation
Handwriting styles can rotate among 5–15 versions of each letter for a less mechanical result.
Your preferred pen
No proprietary ink cartridge is required. Use compatible, readily available pens and colors.
Replace repetitive pen work
One UniProd can replace the repetitive writing capacity of up to five full-time handwriters.†
Load a batch, press start, and move your people off repetitive pen strokes and onto the list, offer, finishing, and follow-up work that still needs judgment.

1 UniProdAutomatic feed + real pen†Up to five full-time handwriters reflects comparative repetitive-writing throughput under typical job assumptions. Actual capacity replacement varies by stock, message length, handwriting style, feeder configuration, operator time, downstream steps, and operating conditions.
From spreadsheet to finished mail
A practical four-step production workflow.
See each step during your demo, using data and stock that resemble your real job.
Bring your data
Start with the names, addresses, and custom fields you already keep in Excel or a CSV export.
Build the job
Use the Windows-based UniProd software to map fields, choose a handwriting style, and lay out the piece.
Move it by USB
Transfer the finished job to the machine without depending on a cloud connection or a live CRM integration.
Load and write
Load your stock, set the pen, and press start. UniProd feeds, writes, and collects the finished pieces.
Made for an ordinary office
Bring handwriting production in house without building a print shop.
UniProd is designed for teams that want control over their data, timing, stock, and message. Load a batch, start the job, and keep working while the machine handles the pen movement and feeding.

One machine, multiple formats
Write the outside, the inside, or both.
Address envelopes, personalize flat cards, or add variable content to letters. Your demo can focus on the format that matters most to your team.

Make the decision with real numbers
Is UniProd a fit for your volume and workflow?
If it does not make sense at your volume, we will tell you.
Often a strong fit
Your team wants to…
- Personalize recurring batches of letters, cards, or envelopes
- Keep recipient data and production timing in house
- Replace repetitive hand-addressing or hand-note labor
- Use spreadsheet data to vary each finished piece
- Own or rent a production tool instead of buying pieces one at a time
May not be the right fit
Your workflow requires…
- A fully finished, folded, stuffed, sealed, and stamped mail piece
- A live API that writes directly from your CRM without an export
- Only a handful of handwritten pieces on rare occasions
- Inkjet-level throughput rather than real-pen movement
- A purchase decision without reviewing the remaining labor steps
Bring your monthly volume and one representative mail piece.

Straight answers before the call
Frequently asked questions.
Still comparing workflows? Call (800) 556-8801 or bring the question to your live demo.
Why do handwriting machines vary so much in price?
Purchase price is only one part of operating cost. Feed capacity, reload frequency, measured throughput on your stock, software fit, training, warranty coverage, replacement parts, and downtime support all affect the value of a production system. A live demo lets you compare those factors using a job that resembles yours.
What should I verify before choosing a handwriting machine?
Ask every supplier to run your actual format and explain the test conditions. Confirm pieces per load, realistic hourly output, required operator steps, data-transfer workflow, training, support channels, warranty length, exclusions, parts availability, and return-shipping responsibility. Comparable evidence is more useful than an unsupported maximum specification.
Does UniProd print handwriting?
No. UniProd physically moves a real ballpoint pen across the page. You can adjust pressure and use compatible, readily available pens and ink.
Will every piece look exactly the same?
It does not have to. A handwriting style can use multiple randomized versions of each letter, helping repeated characters look naturally varied instead of mechanically identical.
How fast does it write?
A common three-line addressed envelope runs at approximately 110 pieces per hour. Adding a return address is typically closer to 75 per hour. Actual speed varies with the stock, layout, message length, and writing style.
Can UniProd replace handwriters on staff?
For repetitive production writing, one UniProd can replace the writing capacity of up to five full-time handwriters under typical job assumptions. It does not replace list strategy, creative, quality control, folding, stuffing, sealing, or postage. Actual labor impact varies with the job, stock, message length, and downstream workflow.
Does the machine fold, stuff, seal, or stamp?
No. UniProd writes and auto-feeds the media. Folding, stuffing, sealing, postage, and mailing remain separate steps in your workflow.
How does personalization work?
Import Excel or CSV data into the Windows-based software, map your fields, and transfer the job to UniProd with a USB drive. Names, addresses, greetings, and other fields can change from piece to piece.
Can it connect directly to my CRM or ecommerce platform?
UniProd does not require a live API connection. Most teams export the records they want to mail as Excel or CSV, then import that file into the UniProd software.
Can we use our own handwriting?
Custom handwriting styles are available. Bring that goal to your demo and the team will explain the sample, creation, and timing requirements.
What happens after we get a machine?
Remote training is included, and the U.S.-based support team can help you through setup and your first production job. New machines include three-year coverage, subject to the written warranty terms.
